Five Reasons You Should Invest in a Professional Wedding Photographer

I want to start off saying that narrowing this down to only five reasons has been difficult, but I went ahead and picked what I believe are the top five reasons you should invest in your dream professional photographer for your wedding day.

  1. Your wedding photographer is the vendor that you will probably spend the most time with on your wedding day and throughout the entire planning process. Ideally, you will get along with your photographer + feel your truest self with them around.

  2. It’s important that you can trust your photographer to do their job before, during + after the wedding day. Before the wedding, your photographer should educate you on their processes and what you can expect. On your wedding day, I hope your photographer would be 100% present + give their undivided attention to you, your person + your day as it unfolds. After the wedding day, it is imperative that your photographer protects your images and follows through with their end of the contract. That leads me to….

  3. When hiring a professional photographer, you should both sign a contract. This insures you are both on the same page + you know exactly what to expect from your vendor + from the entire process. This saves the photographer and yourself in the event something goes south.

  4. Hiring a photographer that is competent + experienced should ease your mind and take a lot of weight off your shoulders throughout the entire process. I truly believe experience is the name of the game and I recommend trusting that the person you hire can handle anything + everything thrown at them.

  5. It’s hard to say which of these is the most important but I truly believe in my heart of hearts this one is SUPER important. At the end of your wedding day, all that is left is your marriage and your photos (and video if you go that route). When you’re looking back on your images five, ten, or twenty years from now, what do you want to see? Do you want to remember the photo trend at the time? Do you want to remember how silly, uncomfortable poses your photographer put you in? Or, do you want to remember the day as it unfolded + the simple, timeline portraits? There’s nothing wrong either way, but definitely take this to heart and into consideration as you select the right photographer for you.

I really hope this resonated with you + got your wheels turning about hiring a professional photographer for your wedding. If you think I’m the right person to capture your special day, I would love nothing more than to chat with you! Please click here to contact me.
